Puerto Eden

There is a good anchorage in the NE corner of the bay by the village. It is possible to use the wharf but depths are shallow (2.5 meters) and there is frequent traffic.

An alternative anchorage can be found in the northern corner of Caleta Malacca but beware of the power cable at the entrance with a clearance of 14.5 meters at high water.

Check-in procedures change on an annual basis in Puerto Eden…. along with the change of personnel.

When we called in 2017 we were required, for the first time in 9 years, to visit the Capitánia at the far side of the bay. In 2018 they came to us in their RIB and photographed our documents.

There is now a floating pontoon in front of the Capitánia.

Currently diesel is sold by a gentleman who lives just beyond the school. He stores it in 200 litre bidones on the Carabineras jetty. I have always found it to be of good quality, the price in 2018 was CH$1000 a litre.
