Los Cristianos - Docking
Entrance
The entrance to the harbor becomes clear once Punta Rasca is rounded. The entrance is wide with the beach area cordoned off with a line of buoys.
Marina Information
The marina here is full, with a long waiting list for permanent berths, therefore there is no space available for transient yachts.
Dinghies can be landed by the fishermen’s cooperative quay, on the inside, by the fuel dock. Dinghy thefts have been reported here. There are showers on the public beach.
Lift out at the boatyard here is now possible for international yachts. The boatyard, Marina Seca Los Cristianos, belongs to the Port Authority, so prices are very reasonable. See boatyards for more details.
Anchoring
Anchoring has been prohibited inside the harbor since 1998. A port launch used to visit any yacht anchored and ask them to anchor further out.
The designated yacht anchorage is to the SE of the green starboard buoy marking the entrance into the harbor. This is both a long dinghy ride away from the shore and facilities and also prone to swell, so few yachts remain here longer than absolutely necessary.
If you anchor off Las Vistas beach, to the SW of the port, harbor authorities will ask you to move and you risk being fined.

Things may have changed once again in Los Cristianos then. We were ordered to leave the anchorage outside the Vista Beach Oct 30th 2014 by the Harbour Patrol and threatened with fines if we were not gone in one hour. The patrol referred to new charts forbidding anchoring in this area. The only permitted spot will be southeast of the harbour. Quite far from the facilities ashore. Most foreign sailors seem not to have these charts, as recommendations from sailors of this anchoring site are often received.
Los Cristianos is one of a few good anchoring spots in this area, and added to the stories about the Santa Cruz harbour captain this does not promote Tenerife as welcoming to yachts.
Things are changed in Los Cristianos.
The boatyard has been completely renovated and is now open to all vessel again.
The boatyard that once has been the most popular haul-out place in the Canaries is no fully operating again.
All the repair services are available, the new security measure is in place (CCTV cameras and harbour police 24 hours a day).
A new private company is now running the dry dock.
Prices of haul out and hard standing are reasonable and the service very good.
A new 110 tons travel lift, electrical and water supply, toilet and shower.
For more information or to make a reservation, you can call Adriano on 0034 654 517 993 or on VHF channel 14 calling MARINA SECA LOS CRISTIANOS.
A free berth for 1 night in the new marina is usually available for boats hauling out the following morning.
The yacht is now allowed to anchor in the nearby bay in front of Las Vista Beach (just next to the Harbor).
Things are changed in Los Cristianos…
