In the eastern part of the marina, there are often freestanding berths between the fishing boats, equipped with electricity and water. The harbourmaster advises booking this in advance via email. The western pontoons are quite far away (and without electricity and water) … Friendly staff, safe harbour, a bit noisy due to the ferries.
Posted on behalf of Thibault Da Cruz, Sailboat Moya:
I spent 8 days in Morro Jable, a nice port with friendly staff, English not spoken. The port is divided into two sides: western and eastern.
No showers. Toilets can be found just by the post office on the eastern side. No electricity or water on the western side. Water and electricity available on the eastern side. It is possible to top up water tanks by jugs or moving the boat to a berth on the eastern side for short period of times (check with port authority).
The fuel station is on the eastern side.
It is forbidden to anchor in the port. Plenty of room on the western side, 2 pontoons. Rocks on the northern side are close to the surface at low tide. Well protected from southerlies. I paid 5.17 Euros per day for a 10-metre boat.
Port is close to the beach and walking paths toward the mountains.
There is a supermarket (Spar), two Chinese shops and a hardware store in town, less than 15 minutes walk. There is a big resort east of the town.
There is a travel lift that could be used by pleasure boats, check with the port authority as it is used by local fishermen.
We are staying in the western part of the harbour. No water, no electricity but flat water and very quiet. The marina staff are very friendly and helpful! The only danger is the rats on the pontoon.
A rat came into our boat through one open hatch during the night while we were sleeping…It was a challenging game to catch the furry little animal. A night later it happened to our neighbour as well. So make sure that your hatches are closed when the sun goes down or do something to prevent this thing…
