Abrolhos Reefs - Clearance
On arrival, call “Farol de Abrolhos” (the park ranger) on VHF Channel 16. They will instruct you where to pick up a mooring buoy or possibly anchor.
Visitors may not land on either the islands or the reefs without a ranger being present.
There used to be a charge per person for mooring here, as well as a charge to tour the island, however latest reports are that the rangers don’t ask for any money. Be sure to check however and be prepared to pay should a fee be requested.
It is also possible to visit the Navy base and lighthouse with prior arrangement.

The Abrolhos archipelago is fantastic. Many say it’s even better than Fernando de Noronha. The navy guys, the rangers and the biologists are very friendly and will be happy to show you around.
