History:
- Anguilla closed to visiting yachts on March 20th, 2020.
- Lockdown lifted on 29 April, but ports remained closed. Officials said that illegal boat landings represented the greatest threat to the island’s health and security, and that they would focus on protecting Anguilla from illegal entry. Coordinated land, sea and air patrols were in place.
- No yachts were permitted to sail into Anguilla’s territorial waters (to do so renders you liable to interception and detention).
- Borders remained closed until 2021, when a travel authorisation was introduced for incoming travelers (including testing and quarantine).
- April 2021, borders closed again to manage a cluster of cases, and re-opened mid-May with a pre-arrival application process, testing and quarantine on arrival.
- July 1st, 2021 – only fully vaccinated travelers permitted to enter.
- Entry protocols were further amended in September and November 2021.
- August 8, 2022, pre-arrival testing and application to enter were removed for vaccinated travelers and unvaccinated were permitted to enter with testing.
- October 1, 2022, all restrictions were lifted.
