    Data Entry2 says:

We stayed a night at Porto Palermo July 2015 tied up to the huge pier there and were the only boat. Porto Palermo bar across the road is very friendly and helpful (may be changing hands in Sept 2015)

The military has chased boats out of the port a couple of months ago but there is a bay to the east of the entrance which affords good shelter. the castle of Ali Pasha is open mornings and evenings for minimal sum and is in excellent condition (take a torch or mobile phone for the dungeons!)
