Worldwide Marine Radio-Fax Changes: Effective from 19 September 2018

The Ocean Prediction Center (OPC) has produced weather forecast information since March 2018. A new revised schedule of radio-fax transmissions comes into effect on 19 September 2018.

The National Weather Service (NWS) National Centers for Environmental Prediction’s (NCEP) Ocean Prediction Center (OPC), in cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard, will be incorporating 72-hour forecast information into the radio-facsimile broadcasts from Boston, MA (call sign NMF), Pt. Reyes, CA (call sign NMC), and Kodiak, AK (call sign NOJ).

The introduction of the 72-hour forecast information into the radio-facsimile schedule will take place on September 19, 2018. The OPC began producing 72-hour forecast information March 7, 2018.

To add new information to the radio-facsimile broadcasts, the schedules will be adjusted. The new schedule can be found here.

No forecast information will be removed as a result of this change. The current Worldwide Marine Radio-facsimile Broadcast schedule can be found here.
