………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………ARC and ARC+
November Departures 2022
November will see the dockside in Las Palmas hectic with activity as boats gather for the twin departures of ARC and ARC+ at either end of the month. After so many cruisers put their plans on hold due to the pandemic, 2022 has seen a flood of entries for the transatlantic rallies – view the entry lists for ARC or ARC+. Whilst the ARC+ Cape Verdes route is fully subscribed there are a few spaces still available for late entries for the ARC (direct) route in November. As dock space in Las Palmas is limited, any skippers thinking of joining should make their applications now.
ARC January 2023
For those keen to spend Christmas at home, or whose schedules are not suited to a November transatlantic, our ARC-January route offers the option for a later crossing to Saint Lucia. The route is limited to 50 boats and there are some spaces open.
ARC November 2023
The entry list for November 2023 will open in early September 2022 and we anticipate strong demand for spaces. Do make sure that you have registered your interest for 2023 via our website “tell me more” button, so that you will receive the 2023 information and registration link once the routes are open in September.

ARC Europe 2023
Entries are now open for WCC’s annual west to east Atlantic cruise with the next edition of ARC Europe, set to take place in May and June 2023.
The first leg of ARC Europe sets out from Simpson Bay in Sint Maarten and heads to a rendezvous in St. George’s, Bermuda, where we gather other boats routed from different Caribbean islands and the US east coast. The enlarged fleet then sets sail to Horta, Faial in the Azores, the ‘must-go’ transatlantic stopover. While in the Azores, there is a group cruise through the archipelago calling at Terceira, Sao Miguel and Santa Maria, with social and sightseeing opportunities on each island. The final leg of the rally will be to Lagos, Portugal, with an alternative supported cruising leg towards Northern Europe.
ARC Europe typically has in the region of 30 yachts with over 100 crews from many nationalities, making for a friendly atmosphere. The rally is six weeks of sailing in company, and the route allows for crew changes as there are good international connections for both start and finish ports, plus Bermuda and several of the Azorean islands. Many boats choose to sail with a number of different crew to make the most of holiday allocations, and four is the average boat crew. Taking more crew than for Caribbean cruising is a good idea, as the Atlantic west-to-east sail is a tougher sail than the tradewinds route to Caribbean.

2022 – On From Darwin
World Cruising Club’s annual circumnavigation rally World ARC is setting sail again in September as boats from previous editions and new joiners get together in Darwin, Australia for the route back to the Caribbean. For some it has been a ‘long-haul’ as the pandemic forced a stop to long-distance cruising, whilst others are setting out from home ports in Japan and Australia to explore new cruising waters. If you and your boat can reach Darwin by early September, we can still accept late entries, subject to boat size and type.
2023 – Setting Sail in January
The 2023 edition has proved so popular that for the first time ever, World Cruising Club are offering two starts on World ARC. The first group of yachts – ‘the circumnavigators’ – will set off from Saint Lucia in early January on their 15 month round-the-world adventure. A second group – ‘the into-the-Pacific’ boats will set off 6 weeks later on a similar route that will take them as far as Fiji and Australia. The option has been popular with cruisers planning to spend several seasons in the Pacific and include a visit to New Zealand.
Those planning a round-the-world voyage still have time to join our 2024 edition which was recently opened for registration.
