ARC 2022 – Limited Places Available

There is still time to join us for the November 2022 ARC crossing from Gran Canaria to Saint Lucia with spaces available for both monohulls and multihulls, subject to overall boat length. Your boat will need to arrive in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria no later than 13 November and comply with the ARC safety equipment requirements. For those keen on a later departure, ARC January sets off from Las Palmas to Saint Lucia on 15 January 2023.

As dock space in Las Palmas is limited, we recommend that any skippers thinking of joining should make their applications now and not to wait further.

ARC 2023 – the Next Wave

Entries are now open for the November 2023 and January 2024 editions of the famous Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. The ARC offers a choice of two transatlantic routes and three crossing dates, making it more popular than ever in its 36-year history as the world’s leading cruising sailing event. You can ride the next wave with the traditional direct ARC from Gran Canaria to Saint Lucia in November 2023 or January 2024, or the ARC+ Cape Verde route in early November crossing to Grenada via Cape Verde. Demand from the global cruising community is strong so we recommend early registration to secure your spot for next year.

West to East Transat – May 2023

ARC Europe 2023

Entries Now Open – Start: 6 May 2023 from St Maarten

Our Caribbean to Europe route – ARC Europe – has been running almost as long as the original ARC, helping get cruisers from West to East across the Atlantic. It kicks off from Sint Maarten in the Caribbean Leeward Islands and heads to Bermuda where boats from the US and Bahamas can connect with the fleet. The 1800NM passage from Bermuda to the Azores takes around two weeks and the rally includes a chance to explore these beautiful Atlantic islands before the final stage to Lagos in southern Portugal.

WCC Welcomes New Managing Director

We are delighted to welcome back Paul Tetlow as Managing Director (designate) from 1 August 2022. Paul joins us from managing St Katharine Docks Marina in London and will take on full responsibility for World Cruising Club from 1 January 2023, when current MD Andrew Bishop will step down. For Paul, it will be a return to familiar ground, having worked for WCC until 2015 as the Event Manager responsible for the World ARC round-the-world rally.

“It is great to be back at World Cruising Club and I look forward to meeting and assisting participants during this year’s ARC rallies and beyond.” said Paul after the announcement. We know that his experience will help ensure continuity for our staff, our skippers, and crews, as well as the opportunity to bring new ideas to the rallies and we all wish him well in his new role.
