Whale Migration Season in the Eastern Caribbean
Published 13 years ago, updated 6 years ago
The Caribbean Safety and Security Net reports that two vessels reported spotting whales over the weekend of 28th/29th January 2012: one was seen between Grenada and Carriacou and the second about two miles off Rodney Bay, St. Lucia.
This is the time of year when whales are moving north and yachts are cautioned to keep an eye out for any activity, from sleeping just at the waterline (which is sometimes difficult to spot) to breaching and other actions.
