Inmarsat has announced EOL (end of life) for the older Fleet 33 (and 55/77) terminals. Data will stop functioning on 31st December 2017.

What is ‘EOL’?

‘End of Life – EOL’ is the time when the terminals associated with the retired services are deactivated on the network and the services are no longer available to customers.

Inmarsat is a private British satellite telecoms company. Inmarsat Fleet is an integrated solution for voice, fax and data services. There are three versions (Fleet 33, 55 and 77). As the third generation of Inmarsat Satellites starts to age (we now have the fifth generation and expecting the sixth next year), there will, unfortunately, be some equipment that is no longer supported by Inmarsat .

(Note, Inmarsat Fleet Broadband is *NOT* affected and will continue to work fine)

Inmarsat has promotional programs to help former Fleet 33, 55, and 77 customers transition to current service offerings.
