The yacht club are extremely welcoming to visiting yachts and provide a safe and secure anchorage, as well as a number of other services in the Club House. They can also assist prior to arrival with contacting Port Health and Immigration on your behalf.

There is a charge for temporary membership of the yacht club.

The yacht club has a sliding scale – boat and skipper is approx TZS 20,000 (~$8) a day, 40,000 (~$18) a week and TZS 100,000 (~$40) a month, plus a bit for extra crew (rates August 2023).  You can pay by credit card, m-pesa and cash.

As a temporary member of the yacht club you’ll receive fresh, clean drinking water with which to fill your tanks and good quality showers. There’s also free wifi in the bar and onsite facilities for doing laundry (by hand) and you can use their P.O box address for deliveries.

The boatyard beneath the club has a workshop with electricity where you can carry out maintenance tasks, and there’s a team of guys who can help with your bigger projects. The boatyard also has some moorings available. There’s a pulley system that works as a secure dinghy dock.

The bar/restaurant at the club does takeaways.
