Where is Young Island Cut?

Calliagua Bay is located on the southern end of the island of St. Vincent Island and is home to some of the more popular yachting destinations and anchorages on St. Vincent, including Young Island Cut and Blue Lagoon.

Young Island Cut is located about a half-mile west of Blue Lagoon tucked just behind Young Island. It is open on both ends, but affords good protection from most directions.

Entrance Notes or Cautions for Young Island Cut:

Young Island Cut can be entered from either the south or west via two approaches on either side of Young Island. The south entrance is through Calliagua Bay near Blue Lagoon. The western entrance is located north of Young Island between Young Island and Indian Bay.

Cruisers recommend someone remaining on board if going ashore and a rotational watch during the night, as yachts continue to get boarded here and burgled if left open and unattended. See the Security reports section for the latest reported incidents.

In addition, if taking moorings be sure to inspect the ground tackle as cruisers have reported moorings failing here.
