Recall on Rocket Parachute Flares
A recall notice has been put out by Japanese Company Kokusai Kakoh Ltd after they found that Rocket Parachute Flares KP-16, that have been manufactured between February 2021 to July 2024, have performance issues.
In an advisory notification, the company said “The concern lies in the specified altitude and burning time when fired. However, under normal storage conditions, there is no possibility of ignition or spontaneous combustion.
“With this in mind, we advise you to arrange for replacement flares if your yacht does carry the Rocket Parachute Flares KP-16, at the earliest moment possible.”

Life Jackets Recalled due to Faulty Inflators
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s (ACCC) Product Safety Group has issued a recall on life jackets from Life Jacket Solutions and Marlin Life Jackets due to faulty inflators used in the manufacture of the safety equipment.
These inflators are installed in the following life jacket brands:
- Life Jacket Solutions (LJS) – Model numbers T150M, G150M, B150M, WB100, PR150M, SRSS150.
- Marlin Life Jackets – Model number MK150.
Users should check the grey plastic part of the inflator to find out if you have a recalled product. Recalled inflators are marked “V96000 Halkey Roberts ®” and have a manufacture date between 4 June 2021 and 15 April 2024 (this will be laser printed in the format MM/DD/YY).
The Product is being recalled because the indicator status on the inflator may show the life jacket is ready for use even when the attached gas cylinder is empty, removed or not connected properly. The life jacket cannot inflate when this happens.
The ACCC said the hazard to users of the jackets was a risk of drowning if the life jacket does not inflate as expected when the manual inflator is deployed.
