Protected and beautiful

This is a great find. A perfect horseshoe bay protected from pretty much all winds, except the south. We were tucked up here in a northerly blow and felt almost nothing, so calm. We came here after spending the day in Isla Areosa, just a quick hop across the Ria. Anchored in about 6m. The beach gets busy by the afternoon, there’s a small bar, but we only had to share with 2 other small motorboats and most of the 2 days we spent here we were alone (in July). Great paddle boarding and canoeing to the adjacent beaches and around the surrounding rocks. The beach to the east has water toys to rent (pedaloes, water bicycles etc. – if you have kids) and there is the most fabulous ice-cream booth (Beixoes made in La Coruna) just at the western end of that beach. I’ve never tasted better. We did get visited by fisherman around 8.30am both mornings – divers getting navajas – but this wasn’t noisy and not a problem.
