Cuba, Pilon

Pilotage: Quite a simple, if windy, approach. There is a short cut. We took the longer route.

Clearance: Officials rowed out almost as soon as we had anchored.

Anchorage: Good holding but quite a long fetch in easterly winds.

Ashore: A previously prosperous town but the sugar factory has closed down. A few shops. Said to be music in the square on Saturday evenings. We heard a band practicing in a back-yard as we passed.

Reported by Richard Kingsnorth for the RCCPF.
