NOAA’s Golden Anniversary
On October 9, 1970, the National Ocean and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) was born in the USA. It came out of an idea that a healthy ocean and the atmosphere are inextricably linked and that we depend upon it. In 2020, NOAA will celebrate 50 years.

Since its inception in 1970, NOAA has evolved into one of the world’s premier science organizations with a mission that spans from the surface of the sun to the floor of the ocean.
