Nancy and Burger have sailed around the world in stages aboard Halekai, an Alden 50, since leaving Annapolis, Maryland, USA in 2004. After several seasons in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia, Halekai was shipped from Thailand to Turkey to avoid the pirates in June 2011. They then cruised extensively in the Med (Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain) for two seasons before sailing on to Morocco, the Canary Islands and the Cape Verdes en route to the Caribbean at the end of 2013. After sailing through the Windward Islands and the Bahamas they crossed to Florida in April 2014. They then sailed up the IntraCoastal Waterway to Annapolis, where Halekai is now for sale.
